Saturday Night Fever

Hardie continued to dominate the Blue section with a win over Wilson booking the teams’ place in the quarters undefeated. In the other game Team Mitchell came from behind to topple Team Hamilton, ending a disappointing weekend for this experienced side. This left Team Wilson alone in second spot with three points, qualifying for the Sunday.

Taylor beat Joiner in the Red section qualifying in top spot. Cameron Bryce and team had another tight game against Forfar CC skipped by Inglis. Inglis looked well placed at the halfway point but a three to Bryce in the fifth proved important and carried the young team to victory and a tasty quarter-final match-up against Team Hardie.

Fraser took an early lead against Team I.Taylor in the Green section which proved insurmountable. Fraser qualifies first. Marnoch versus Telfer however was the big game of the section, effectively a straight play-off for 2^nd spot and a place in the quarter-finals. First blood went to Telfer who picked up a three in the second end. Marnoch fought on exchanging twos but a four to Telfer in the fifth sealed their qualification.

In the ladies’ section Angharad Ward’s team continued their winning ways, this time over over Forfar Ladies and qualify top. Another straight play-off between Wilson and MacDonald would decide the other qualifier. It was Wilson in charge 4-1 at the mid-point and ultimately ran MacDonald out of ends winning 5-2.
